According to the branch communication manager of the airport, named Haerul Anwar on Thursday, the airline is organizing the relocation process to the new place in Terminal 3. The manager added that they also support all of the works related to the relocation process.

Besides, the manager also informed that the check-in counters will be relocated to the terminal’s D13 to 18. Meanwhile, for the domestic flights of Air Asia, the departures and arrivals will be still at the Terminal 2F in the Soekarno Hatta International Airport.

The movement of the international flights of other airlines to Terminal 3 also has been done before Air Asia, such as Garuda Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Korean Airlines, China Southern and China Airlines.

The operator of the airport will move all of the Soekarno Hatta International Airport international flights gradually to the Terminal 3. Meanwhile, the domestic flights will only use Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

The manager stated that the international flights’ passengers are always increasing at the Soekarno Hatta International Airport and it reaches more than 14,700,000 passengers. It increases about 12% from the amounts in 2016.

Haerul added that the corporation’s main program is to create an Airport with digital journey experience. PT Angkasa Pura II also has been continually socializing the boarding system. With the e-boarding pass, it will ease the passengers in the check-in process. They only need to show the e-boarding pass on their smartphone screen to the boarding officers or Avsec officers.

Therefore, if you are going to travel to or from Indonesia by Air Asia after January 22, then you should go to Terminal 3 for check-in and also for arrival. The e-boarding system must be more reliable and make the check-in process more effective and efficient.
