Are you a regular customer of Scoot with regular travelling destination to Singapore? Or are you Scoot’s regular and often make a transfer in Changi International Airport? Be advised that the air carrier will change the operational service from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 starting from October the 22nd 2019. With this change, it is expected that passengers’ experience will be better – not to mention that the company is planning for their future.
No need to worry, though. If you have purchased the ticket, you have different destinations to go to. If you are travelling before October the 22nd, you are still going to Terminal 2. But on October the 22nd and afterwards, you should go to Terminal 1. Effective from the date, all Scoot flights and check-in counters will take place at Terminal 1. For the check-in counters, you should head to Departure Section at level 2 from row 5 to 7.
Scoot is Singapore Airline’s low-cost service beginning their operation in June 2012. They merged with Singapore TigerAir in July 2017 to retain the (Scoot) brand. They have 29 units of A320 Airbus and 20 units of Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Reasons for the Change
Keep in mind that check-in procedures remain the same. Passengers for international flights, for instance, should check-in at least 3 hours before the (scheduled) departure. All counters will close 60 minutes before the departure too. Scoot provides self-service facilities for check-in so you can make use of it for smoother and faster procedures. The facilities are open 18 hours up to 70 minutes before the flights.
Scoot’s official claimed that the operational changes happen to allow better growth for the future. The company has managed several changes to accommodate its growth and development. Since April 2019, they have launched 8 new destinations in Malaysia, Laos, India, and China. They have done it as a crucial part of the future’s expansion plan. As if it weren’t enough, they are going to launch more new routes (predictably 9 of them) before the end of 2020.
With the constant and continuing growth, the company believes that they are going to focus on customer experience because of its crucial role. For instance, check-in activities are important. It is one of the major 3 areas that have been the target of improvement – at least from the airline. Check-in experience will be made better, easier, and faster, and it is believed to affect customers’ decision to use the service.
Changes to the Airport
Changi Airport alone has undergone a lot of upgrade works that have gone for the past 5 years to accommodate their capacity – especially in terminal 1. The improved features cover hall expansion, bag drop machines, check-in counters, and terminal integration. The latter one happens to Jewel Changi Airport.
