Mumbai’s Terminal 1 is the oldest airport that is built to facilitate domestic flights in the country. Despite its age, the building is still being upgraded when needed and is still being treated well. It is comparable to the second terminal as they try to keep services between the two equal to minimize any inconveniences of traveling between the two terminals to use the service. That said, here is the list of services available in both terminals.

Free Wi-Fi

Mumbai Airport Wi-Fi

Losing internet connectivity after arriving in a new country due to its unavailability of mobile services can feel claustrophobic, especially if you need to contact your family or loved ones and inform them that you’ve safely landed. Thankfully, both terminals provide free Wi-Fi all across the passenger area.

To connect, turn on the Wi-Fi on your devices and select #FreeWiFiByAirport. Your devices will automatically open an internet browser of your default preference and link you immediately to a login page. Unfortunately, there are two choices, the first one is free Wi-Fiand the second is for premium usage. The free Wi-Fi gives you free and limited Wi-Fi connections. Meanwhile, you need to pay for the premium ones. You will then input a password provided by entering your phone number on the Wi-Fi login page. Your phone number will receive a One-Time Password via SMS for you to begin surfing.

Suppose you are eager to spend more money by using the roaming feature, which obviously costs more. In that case, you could give the premium Wi-Fi facility a shot. You could seek assistance at the information desks, where they will scan your passport or any credentials and then give you the password.

Special Assistance Facility Mumbai International Airport

Mumbai International Airport prepares for the arrival of people in need of special assistance. Accessible wheelchair services are available from booking respective airlines. Unfortunately, the wheelchairs must be pushed manually without any airport member’s contribution, so it’s best to have someone help you there. In the first terminal, the services are only available if you book a ticket from Gofirst, Trujet, AirAsia, and Star Air. It is only available from the second terminal if you book AirIndia, Indigo, Vistara, and SpiceJet tickets.

There are paid services that are also available. Here you can get trained representatives for wheelchair assistance.

You can get in touch with your individual airlines to get your stuff back if you lose them while flying. However, you can immediately contact the department’s telephone number if your items are lost at the airport.

Your lost belongings will be recorded if you still have yet to claim them, including the content, description, date, etc. The airport must transport them to a warehouse within 24 hours or at 0900 by the following day. The passenger or a person with the passenger’s permission may then claim the item between 0930 and 1730 hours (Except on the 2nd & 4th Saturday, Sunday & Public holidays). All perishable products, including liquids, shall be stored in a secure location for up to 48 hours or the item’s expiration date before being disposed of with the approval of the duty terminal manager.

The lost and found department can be found at the departures, next to the Airport police station in the first terminal or the Santacruz terminal. It can also be found on the second terminal in the ground transportation lobby on the first level.
