Getting a Singaporean Visa Has Never Been This Easy!

Singapore is an excellent destination for a bustling getaway, rich in multiculturalism and vibrant shopping. Fortunately, you may not need a Singaporean visa to visit if your country is eligible. Read on to find out if your country qualifies for visa-free entry or if you need to obtain one before your trip.

How to Get a Singaporean Visa?

Singaporean visa requirements

Before planning your trip to Singapore, it’s important to understand the key document you’ll need upon arrival: the arrival card, mandatory for all international visitors, regardless of visa status.

The arrival card must be completed within three days of your arrival (including your landing date). You can fill out the form using this link

The only exceptions to filling out the card are transiting visitors and national residents using the Tuas and Woodlands checkpoints.

International visitors from countries meeting certain eligibility criteria must still obtain a visa to enter. Examples include travelers from Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, and India.

Singapore’s primary airport is Changi International Airport, renowned as one of the world’s best and busiest.

What to Consider Before Getting a Singaporean Visa?

Before proceeding with the Singaporean visa application process, it’s crucial to understand the prerequisites. This will help you prepare effectively and determine the appropriate Singaporean visa types for your needs.

Please note that all applications, visas, and other related documents are subject to approval. You may need to wait while your application is processed. Entry into the country is only permitted if your application meets the eligibility criteria.

Upon approval, you will receive an electronic pass specifying the duration of your stay in the country.

1. Make Sure Your Country is on The List

Singapore does not offer a visa-on-arrival system. Therefore, if you are a national of a country that requires a visa, you must obtain the permit before your trip. For a list of visa-required countries, refer to the official resources.

Conversely, Singapore allows citizens from 167 countries to visit without a visa. This includes ASEAN nations, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and others. Each country has a specific permitted length of stay, which you should verify

Similar to visa renewals, visitors exempt from visas can extend their stay by paying applicable fees to renew their travel pass.

2. Decide Your Purpose of Visit

People travel to Singapore for various reasons, with the most common being business, tourism, and study. Different visa types are available depending on your purpose. Here’s an overview:

  • Social Visa: For personal or travel visits.
  • Business Visa: For purposes such as meetings, conferences, seminars, or similar events held in Singapore.
  • Other Approval Letters: Issued by either the Ministry of Manpower or the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority for work permits and student passes.

3. Visa Application Fees

When it comes to Singaporean visa fees, all of them cost USD 22 or SGD 30. You can pay either through your local contact or directly at the Singapore consulate office in your country of origin.

If you wish to extend your stay, you can pay an extension fee for your short-term visit travel pass, which costs USD 29.92 or SGD 40. Alternatively, if you need to renew your tourist visa, it will cost you SGD 30 or USD 22.

Applying for a Singaporean Visa

Singaporean visa appointments

As mentioned earlier, there are two ways to obtain your visa: online or offline. Here’s how to proceed with each method:

Online

Please note that you can only apply online if you are acquainted with a Singaporean national who is twenty-one years of age or older.

This requirement is due to the necessity of a SAVE account credential, which is exclusive to Singaporean citizens. Having this account is essential for accessing and submitting a Singaporean visa application form online.

After your contact submits the application, processing typically takes two to three business days. Please anticipate potential delays during peak seasons.

Offline

To book a Singaporean visa appointment without a local contact, visit your nearest consulate office. Walk-in visa services are not available, so ensure you schedule an appointment in advance. Remember to bring all necessary documents with you.

Required Documents and Information

For both online and offline applications, you’ll need the following documents and information:

  • A filled Form 14A signed by you.
  • If applicable, a filled Form V39A, signed by a Singaporean citizen who will act as your contact.
  • A scanned photocopy of the biographic page of your valid passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival.
  • Proof of hotel and flight reservations or a detailed itinerary of your travel plans.
  • A valid visa for your next destination, if applicable. If returning to the United States after your Singapore visit, ensure you have the necessary supporting documents
  • A passport photo taken within the last three months, with a white background and a semi-matte or matte finish. The photo should clearly show your entire face. Headwear is prohibited unless for religious purposes that do not cover or hide your face.
  • Your contact details, including phone number and active email address.
  • Your bank or card information.
